Michael Field Sensei and Peter Sceney

Peter Sceney started training in martial arts in 1966, firstly Judo at the local YMCA in Geelong, then later Tae Kwon Do in Geelong and later in Sydney after a move in 1974.

Peter commenced Aikido training, under Michael Field Sensei, after relocating to Melbourne, in February 1989. In 1990 Peter moved to London and attended the London Aikido Club. On his return to Melbourne in 1992, Peter continued his Aikido study under Field Sensei. In 2000 Peter started instructing at the Field Aikido Balwyn branch dojo. In 2004, for 3 months Peter trained as an uchi-deshi (live-in student) under Hiroko Nemoto Sensei in Iwama, Japan.

Peter moved to Perth for work and founded Perth Aikido in February 2005. Peter was awarded a yondan (Iwama Ryu Aikido Australia), married his wife Fumiko and they were blessed with the arrival of a daughter, in 2010 and a son in 2013.
